SKY-WATCHER PRO MAK 180 IMAGES - myAstroShop

These images were taken by My Astro Shop using the PROMAK 180 Maksutov (7.1-inch) telescope. They are only basic examples of what this telescope is capable of in the imaging arena.

All pictures are copyright and must not be used without express permission of the author. They are provided as an example only of what the optics in this product are capable of and to show our commitment to using and testing products we sell. SkyWatcher optics are simply excellent and especially for the price. If you have a great image taken with any of the SkyWatcher range then do please send it to us! Click here for PROMAK-180 specs...

As a personal owner of this scope, it never ceases to amaze me just how good its optics are and is my main planetary imaging scope these days. It is the perfect portable small aperture instrument for lunar and planetary studies along with binary star and planetary nebula observations. It's not surprising that Celestron chose its manufacturer to make their Schmidt-Cassegrains!

JUPITER

The animation above is made up of two images taken on the first night of testing this excellent Maksutov by SkyWatcher using tri-colour filters and the GSTAR-EX camera. Images were stacked and processed with Registax and PhotoShop. This compact cassegrain design is a seriously affordable alternative Cassegrain design very much suited to lunar and planetary observations and imaging as well as yielding beautiful views of many deep sky objects.
