German Equatorial Mount for 12-inch Newtonians with SynScan 3 GOTO Control
This NEQ6/W extra heavy-duty mount is designed for taking the large 12-inch (300mm) aperture Sky-Watcher Newtonian. With the same specifications as the much popular EQ6 Pro high-precision equatorial mount it features a wider dovetail mounting receptor to match the larger, more sturdy dovetail bar supplied with the Black Diamond 12-inch Newtonian OTA. It also features engraved aluminum setting circles and a latitude scale, built-in polarscope for Southern Hemisphere use, large R.A. and DEC. locking clamps, electric slow-motion controls on both axes, and retractable counterweight shaft and counterweight. The proposed strong and rigid field tripod is remarkably stable with adjustable height, incorporating 2-in diameter steel tripod legs.
Out of the box, the NEQ6 is designed to accommodate telescope payloads up to 25 Kg and is excellent for visual observations and short term unguided CCD imaging with most telescopes of conventional design. It will easily handle refractors up to 200mm and classic Newtonians up to 14-in aperture. Larger aperture custom telescopes in light-weight graphite tubes can also be accommodated on a case by case basis. Also now includes a bubble level built in to the head.
