The Sky-Watcher Black Diamond series ED refractors contain Schott ED (Extra-low Dispersion) FPL-53 glasses precision manufactured in Japan.. This glass greatly minimizes chromatic aberration, provides higher resolution and superior contrast. Colour fringing around objects is virtually eliminated. The Sky-Watcher ED80mm refractor also features a backlash-free 2" Crayford focuser and the all metal optical tube is handsomely finished in gold.
The focuser wheels are brushed-aluminum hubs with ridged rubber grip rings. These ED refractors are ideal for visual applications as well as astro-photography.
